New for September 2026:

Masterclass on Environmental Liability

Nature is under escalating: Habitat destruction, illegal wildlife trade and destructive mining are causing unprecedented harm. Legal action is often the last resort to protect and remedy nature.

Around the world, existing legislation -- notably environmental liability provisions -- already provide legal pathways to hold parties meaningfully responsible for harming nature, and for remedying the harm they caused. Our new Masterclass on Environmental Liability will empower lawyers to strategically put existing legislation into action.

Conventional legal education often fails to address the nuances of developing environmental liability cases, and cases are uncommon in most countries. Despite the transformative potential of strategic liability litigation, practitioners are often uncertain about how to develop, present and adjudicate these cases.

Our new Masterclass on Environmental Liability is a globally unique series of free, online, self-paced sessions that will introduce the science and legal principles underpinning environmental liability suits – with a focus on Global Majority countries.

Co-developed with lawyers and scientists from around the world, it is Continuing Legal Education available to public interest lawyers, law students, government lawyers and private attorneys interested in supporting compliance.

Content-rich and technical, beautifully illustrated, with case examples from around the world and video insights from leading scientists and lawyers.

  • Where are environmental liability provisions found and what are the legal options?

  • What is the process of developing a claim for remedies to environmental harm?

  • How do lawyers deal with the science of developing claims for remedies?
