Introducing EnABLE:
Environment and Biodiversity Law Education
Environmental law is central to biodiversity conservation, sustainable resource management and protecting human wellbeing. Operationalising this legislation relies entirely on capable and informed lawyers to forward cases, yet environmental law education is often absent or incomplete, and lawyers, prosecutors and judges are often ill-trained to meaningfully implement the existing laws available to them.
This is why we have developed EnABLE - Environment and Biodiversity Law Education Masterclass. Co-developed with the Environmental Legal Assistance Centre in the Philippines and the IUCN World Commission on Environmental Law Biodiversity Law Specialist Group, the online programme will empower law students, civil society and government lawyers in the Philippines to use existing laws to remedy environmental harm, providing an educational model that can be scaled globally.
The EnABLE Masterclass will be accepting students from mid-2026 onwards.
The EnABLE Project is funded by the UK Government through the Darwin Initiative.
