The corresponding articles of the French Environmental Protection Code are directly applicable. These provisions stipulate that NGOs that have as their objective the protection of the environment and have been active for at least three years may have legal standing in civil cases (art. L611-3 (Livre VI: Dispositions applicables en Nouvelle-Calédonie, en Polynésie française, à Wallis-et-Futuna, dans les Terres australes et antarctiques françaises, à Mayotte, à Saint-Martin et à Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon (Articles L611-1 to L671-1)
